Health Center

Honduras is facing increasing spiritual, social and health care needs that must be met. Restoration Church as a vital part of the community decided to take responsibility to provide health care to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of 16 communities in the Baracoa county.

Why a Health Center?

bulletOnly three government-funded hospitals in the Puerto Cortes' suburban area
bulletLack of financial resources on most of the inhabitants of this area to have access to medical care, medicines and all other expenses related to it (transportations, lodging, meals, etc)
bulletHospitals lack the equipment, supplies and personnel necessary to provide care and/or people can not afford the care needed.
bullet50-70% of an average family of 6 are under 15 years old
bulletHousing and land are extremely depreciated because of continuous flooding so people have little or no collateral for major medical or hospitalization care.
bullet80% of the population has at least one basic need that has not been met (food, shelter, health, transportation, education, etc)
bulletSanitary conditions do not meet basic health standards for living.
