2001
brought the opportunity to serve in Honduras... as a
continued support to the clinic that is fully
supported by Restoration Church.
We joined forces to provide medical care to
over 1500 people in two busy hot days last July.
Woodland Hills Church sent three wonderful
people to participate.
We
cleaned, loaded and unloaded supplies, Todd, a
pharmacy student, helped to dispense and setup the
pharmacy, Ginny, a nurse, assisted the dentist and
other odds and ends, Lisa,
Real State Agent, taught and assisted
Maria, Jennifer and Christy teaching children
about the Lord. I busied myself translating and
running around doing errands while Preston
documented our progress...
We
also helped to clean up the Sewing School property
in El Sauce, and to organize the container that the
church uses to stores their medical supplies.
Another wonderful experience was to share the Lord
with 40 funny and kind little boys... they belong to
the Project that for right now we are calling "Hector's
Kids"...
Hector
is the pastor for the Restoration Church in Campana.
Hector meets with these boys every day, they
have a devotional together and then they talk about
their issues and finally they play a game of
soccer... they are very fond of this sport and asked
me that on our next trip if we could come to visit
again and bring them uniforms... so that their team
looks like a team…! We shared a day with them,
brought gifts and saw the amazing power of God's
love reflected on those little dirty faces...
David,
the psalmist, was so right when he said that it was
so good to be in the house of the Lord... we did not
have walls and definitely no stained glass windows
but the mountains made out a beautiful place to
worship and serve the Lord with our hands and our
hearts.
We hope that next year, you will join us...
pray and prepare yourself to be used... you will be
amazed how much the Lord can use you to bless
others.. You can be there next time!
